Per Olav Kaldestad (born June 26, 1947) is a Norwegian author and organizational worker. He holds a master's degree in English, a background in Norwegian, and general literature studies. He worked as a Norwegian teacher at Stord Teacher's College until 1997 and is currently a full-time author, best known for his children's books. Kaldestad has also been co-editor of the journals Profil and Basar, contributed to various literary forms and has been an advocate for Norwegian children's literature.
