Per Mangset, born on October 15, 1944, is a Norwegian sociologist and an emeritus professor of cultural studies at Telemark University College. He is a senior researcher at Telemarksforsking and was the leader of the Center for Cultural and Sports Studies at the same institution. Mangset has been instrumental in establishing cultural policy research as a distinct academic field and has contributed to various articles, reports, and books in this domain. He also helped found the Nordic and International Conferences on Cultural Policy Research.
