Per Hovdenakk was a Norwegian art historian born on December 11, 1935, in Ørsta, Norway. He worked as a journalist for Bergens Arbeiderblad from 1959 to 1969 before joining the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter in 1969. Hovdenakk served as the director of the museum from 1989 until 1996. He was recognized for his contributions to the arts and was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of St. Olav in 2012. Hovdenakk passed away on June 14, 2016.
