Penri Jones was a Welsh teacher and writer, born on March 27, 1943, in Llanbedrog, Llŷn. He taught at Ysgol Eifionydd before moving to Coleg Meirion Dwyfor. Jones co-founded the Welsh magazine Lol in 1965. Additionally, he served as a councilor for Plaid Cymru in the Gwynedd Council from 1996 to 2012. In 1988, he adapted his novel Jabas into a successful television series on S4C, following the adventures of Jabas and his friends over a summer in Pen Llŷn. He passed away on December 19, 2021.
