Pekka Karunki (1906–1943) was a Finnish journalist and writer, known for his reports in the Seura magazine under the pseudonym KAR and also as Peter Kar in some texts. His notable work, 'Vaipuneet kotkat', details the lives of twelve Finnish fighter pilots who fell during the Winter War. In addition to this, he authored a few literary works, including 'Kesäheila' and 'Kuolleet yöperhoset'. Despite a brief life, he had a significant impact as a freelance writer and editor before his untimely death in Helsinki.
