Pekka Johannes Kari was a Finnish violinist and the concertmaster of the Helsinki City Orchestra. He began studying the violin at the age of ten at the Tampere Music Institute and continued at the Sibelius Academy from 1946 to 1953, studying under notable teachers. His orchestral career spanned several decades, including a significant tenure as a first violinist in various orchestras. In addition to performing, he was a long-time violin instructor at the Sibelius Academy and served on the juries of major violin competitions. He passed away on January 9, 2021.
