He advanced his studies in Germany and returned to teach at his alma mater while founding a reproductive health center. Notably, Figueroa Casas pioneered combined methods in reproductive medicine and was involved in numerous scientific societies. He published over 100 works and authored three books on gynecology and menopause before passing away on June 9, 2008, after battling pancreatic cancer.
