Pedro López Díaz (1928-2005) was a Mexican surgeon, journalist, political activist, and academic. He completed his primary education in Acaponeta and went on to study medicine, graduating from UNAM in 1955. He practiced surgery for ten years, contributed to journalism for nearly fifty years, and served as a federal deputy. A professor for three decades at UNAM, he published sixteen books on diverse topics, including philosophy and politics. His thought emphasized that political struggles should serve the happiness of people, not personal gain.
