Paul-Marcel Gauthier was a Canadian priest, singer, and composer born on January 23, 1910, in Montreal. He was ordained as a priest in 1935 and served as a vicar in various churches in Quebec. Gauthier was also a chaplain for the Royal Canadian Air Force. He recorded songs from his father, folk singer Conrad Gauthier, in 1964, and wrote numerous original children's songs under the pseudonym Jean-Baptiste Purlenne, including 'La Chanson des p'tits poissons'. He passed away on March 22, 1999.
