Paul Robin Krugman, born on February 28, 1953, is a prominent American economist and professor at the City University of New York. He won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2008 for his contributions to new trade theory and new economic geography, focusing on international trade patterns and economic activity distribution. Previously, he taught at MIT and Princeton, where he is now an emeritus professor. Krugman is influential in international economics, geography, and liquidity traps, having authored 27 books and over 200 scholarly articles, as well as numerous columns in major publications.
