Paul 'Hammy' Halmshaw, born in 1965, is a British musician and founder of Peaceville Records, known for signing influential death, black, and doom metal bands in the late 1980s and 1990s. Raised in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, he started playing drums in school and formed the band Instigators. He transitioned from a tape label to a professional record label with notable releases, including A Vile Peace compilation. He also ran Vile Music Publishing. In 2016, he published his memoirs titled Peaceville Life. As of 2021, he has been diagnosed with hereditary dilated cardiomyopathy.
