Patric Thomas Dickinson was a British poet, translator, and playwright born on December 26, 1914, in Nasirabad, India. He worked for the BBC from 1942 to 1948 and is known for his verse play 'Theseus and the Minotaur', which was broadcast in 1945. Dickinson published various poetry books, including 'The World I See' and 'A Wintering Tree'. His verse translation of the Aeneid, published in 1961, received acclaim for its clarity. He was also awarded the Cholmondeley Award in 1973 and edited a series of short biographies.
