Pan Dah was a female giant panda born around September 1940 and captured in Western China. She, along with another panda named Pan Dee, was presented to the Bronx Zoo in 1941 by Soong May-ling and Chiang Kai-shek as a symbol of non-Communist China's goodwill towards the United States. Pan Dah spent her life in the Bronx Zoo, where she attracted public interest until her death on October 31, 1951.
