Paku Alam VIII (April 10, 1910 - September 11, 1998) was the second governor of Yogyakarta and a significant figure in the struggle for Indonesia's independence. He was born to Paku Alam VII and Gusti Bendara Raden Ayu Retino Boyoso. He ascended to the throne of the Paku Alam principality on April 12, 1937, under the official name Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Aryo Paku Alam VIII. He served in this role until his death in 1998 and was buried in the family cemetery in Giriloyo.
