Singh Cabinet from 1989 to 1990. Upendra was a member of the Rajya Sabha, representing Andhra Pradesh for two terms from 1984 to 1996. Additionally, he was elected twice to the Lok Sabha from Vijayawada in the 1996 and 1998 elections. His political contributions significantly impacted the region during his tenure.
