Aziz has served as the Vice-Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology and Aligarh Muslim University. He was also the former Vice-Chancellor of the Meghalaya Science and Technology University. Additionally, he has been appointed as the Chairman of the Expert Committee for Curriculum Revision for School Education by the Kerala government.
