Poopalapillai Ganeshalingam was a Sri Lankan Tamil politician who served as a Member of Parliament. Born on July 6, 1932, he became a significant political figure representing the Tamil United Liberation Front in the 1977 parliamentary elections. Ganeshalingam won his seat in Paddiruppu but, along with other TULF members, boycotted Parliament in 1983 due to political pressures, including the threat of violence from Tamil militants and a constitutional requirement that conflicted with their stance for a separate Tamil state. He forfeited his seat on October 22, 1983, after three months of absence.
