Owen Dryhurst Roberts was a Welsh journalist and broadcasting manager born on February 1, 1939, in Niwbwrch, Anglesey. He studied Modern History at Christ Church, Oxford, and began his career with TWW in 1961. He became the editor of the news program Y Dydd in 1964 and head of news at HTV Cymru in 1968. Later, he joined BBC Cymru in 1972 as head of news and current affairs. He was married to MP Ann Clwyd and faced health challenges in the 1970s. Owen passed away due to pneumonia in 2012.
