Otto Vilhelm Gösta Strid was a Swedish accordionist born on December 24, 1904, in Karlstad. He became the Swedish champion in accordion in 1925 and debuted on radio in 1926. Strid emigrated to the USA in 1928, performing for Swedish-Americans and recording for American radio. He returned to Sweden during the Great Depression, worked in construction, and maintained music as a hobby. He performed with Circus Scala, organized accordion competitions, and taught music. He also recorded five gramophone records for Victor in New York in August 1931.
