Ottar Grepstad, born on October 1, 1953, is a prominent Norwegian Nynorsk writer from Øyer. He was active in politics as the leader of the Young Liberals of Norway during the 1970s. Grepstad has held editorial roles, notably at the periodical Syn og Segn. He managed Noregs Mållag and has led the Ivar Aasen Centre since 1999. An influential figure in the arts and language, he served on the board of the Norwegian Language Council. Grepstad has published significant works, including a notable book on prose theory in 1997.
