Ōsuke Itō was a Japanese composer and classical guitarist born on February 26, 1911, in Tokyo. He was the seventh son of architect Takeyoshi Itō and had several notable siblings, including dancer Michirō Itō and stage artist Kisaku Itō. His sons include Ryosuke Itō, founder of a wind turbine manufacturing company, and composer Kan'ō Itō. Itō passed away on February 28, 2009, due to bile duct inflammation at the age of 98. He authored several instructional books for guitar and mandolin.
