Óscar Horta is a Spanish animal rights activist and moral philosopher born on May 7, 1974. He is currently a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Anthropology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and a co-founder of the Animal Ethics organization. Horta is recognized for his work in animal ethics, particularly regarding the suffering of wild animals. He has also contributed to discussions on speciesism and has clarified arguments for moral consideration of non-human animals.
