Oscar Kern was a Brazilian fanzine editor and comics writer, born on September 1, 1935, in Taquara. He began his civil service career at the age of 16, continuing until retirement while also writing comics. Famous for launching the fanzine Historieta in 1972, he played a key role in Brazilian comics, featuring notable artists and creating his own stories, especially the superhero Homem Justo. In 1997, he received the prestigious Prêmio Angelo Agostini for his significant contributions to the field.
