Omar Heide Midtsæter (born July 7, 1920, in Bergen; died November 18, 1990) was a Norwegian jazz musician known for his work as a drummer and a jazz writer. He performed with notable orchestras including Per Borthens' ensemble and recorded with jazz legend Ben Webster. Midtsæter was the first leader of the Norwegian Jazz Federation in 1953 and later led the Oslo Jazz Circle. He contributed to jazz journalism for publications like VG and Det Nye, earning the Molderosen award in 1971 for his efforts.
