Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, born on October 3, 1954, is a Nigerian medical doctor and politician. He served as the governor of Ondo State from 2009 to 2017, being the first two-term and Labour Party governor in Nigeria. His political career started at the University of Ife, and he previously worked as a federal minister and state commissioner for health. After a successful legal challenge for the governorship in 2009, he was re-elected in 2012. Post-governorship, Mimiko advocated for healthcare and governance, and briefly ran for president in 2019 before switching to the senatorial race.
