Oliver Primavesi is a renowned German classical philologist born on February 17, 1961, in Offenbach am Main. He studied classical philology at the universities of Heidelberg and Oxford from 1982 to 1988, achieving his first state examination in Latin and Greek. After completing his doctorate in 1994, he became a scientific assistant at the University of Frankfurt and later held various academic positions, including professor of Greek philology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. He has received several prestigious awards for his research, including the Leibniz Prize in 2007.
