Oleksa Ulynets (1903–1978) was a Ukrainian composer born in Tyshiv, Zakarpattia. Throughout his 27 years abroad, he created over 1,000 songs based on folk traditions. His works were significantly influenced by the poetry of Taras Shevchenko. Ulynets' songs often express themes related to homeland and include titles such as 'Hear, Brother,' 'News Are Flowing,' 'I Think of You Abroad, I Will Sow You in My Native Land,' 'It's Hard for Me Abroad,' and 'Verkhovyna, Dear World.'
