Nuno Miguel Cardoso Santos is a Portuguese astrophysicist born on November 20, 1973, in Mozambique, known for his expertise in the detection and characterization of exoplanets, having discovered eight of them. He earned his physics degree in 1996 and a master's in astronomy and astrophysics in 1998 from the University of Lisbon, followed by a PhD from the University of Geneva in 2002. Since 2008, he has been a researcher at the Center for Astrophysics at the University of Porto.
