Norbert Loch is a former German luger and current national coach for the sport. Born on March 11, 1962, in Friedrichroda, East Germany, he began luge as a teenager and achieved his best Olympic result in 1984, finishing 13th. After retiring, he transitioned into coaching, initially training youth athletes and later serving as the State Coach in Bavaria for 17 years. He has supported several successful athletes, including his son Felix Loch, who won Olympic gold medals in 2014. Loch announced his resignation as national coach at the end of the 2024 season.
