He began studying Aikido under Morihei Ueshiba at the age of 20 and became an irreplaceable figure in the art after moving to France in 1964. Over the years, he helped develop Aikido in Europe, eventually becoming the national technical director for the French Federation of Aikido and Budo, established in 1980. Tamura passed away on July 9, 2010, leaving a significant legacy in martial arts education.
