Nobuo Itō was a Japanese archaeologist born on March 17, 1908, who made significant contributions to the study of the Jomon, Yayoi, and Kofun periods, as well as ancient, medieval, and early modern history in the Tohoku region. He also conducted notable research on the prehistoric era of Sakhalin. He served as a professor emeritus at Tohoku University, highlighting his influence and legacy in the field of archaeology in Japan. Itō passed away on April 10, 1987.
