Niryū Hattori, born Tatsuō on March 10, 1904, was a Japanese Southern school painter known for his unique approach and eccentric personality. He is also referred to by the names Hattori Sōryūshi, Hattori Sōryū, and Niryū Sanjin. Hattori gained recognition as an unconventional Southern school artist, contributing significantly to the art scene in Japan until his passing on January 1, 1968.
