Ninsiima Ronah Rita is a Ugandan politician and journalist born on March 31, 1978. She served as the women representative member of parliament for Kabale District in Uganda's 9th Parliament from 2011 to 2016. Rita gained her position by defeating former agriculture minister Hope Mwesigye in the 2011 general elections held on February 18, marking a significant political shift as Mwesigye had held the seat since 1994. Although she was once affiliated with the National Resistance Movement (NRM), she ran as an independent candidate after losing the NRM primaries.
