Nils Erik Hansegård (June 24, 1918 - February 4, 2002) was a Swedish teacher, Sámi language researcher, and the first Sámi professor at Umeå University. He graduated from Stockholm University with a Master's degree in 1953 and subsequently obtained a Licentiate (1961) and Doctorate (1967) from Uppsala University. His doctoral thesis focused on the language and cultural conditions of the Sámi in the Torne Valley, particularly the influence of Finnish on the Northern Sámi dialect. Hansegård worked at Umeå University from 1975 to 1979.
