Nicolaas Arie van der Burg was a Dutch resistance fighter during World War II, born on April 8, 1904, in Vlaardingen. He worked as a display artist and police assistant before joining the Geuzengroep led by Bernardus IJzerdraat. Arrested on January 6, 1941, for distributing illegal literature, he was imprisoned in Scheveningen until his execution in the Geuzen process on March 13, 1941. He is commemorated in Jan Campert's poem 'Het lied der achttien dooden' and was reburied in Emaus cemetery, Vlaardingen.
