Neil Erland Byers (1928-2020) was a notable Canadian educator and political figure from Saskatchewan. He served in the Legislative Assembly from 1969 to 1982 as a member of the New Democratic Party. Byers had a background in education and worked as a teacher and a hail adjuster. He held several ministerial positions, including Minister of Highways and Transportation, before resigning in 1979. After a later defeat in his reelection bid, he continued to live in Regina until his passing in July 2020.
