Narcís Costa i Horts (1907-1990) was a Catalan composer known for symphonic music and sardanas. He studied music under his father and notable teachers in Girona and Barcelona. He played the clarinet and composed his first sardanas by age 23. Exiled to Mexico after the Spanish Civil War, he contributed significantly to Catalan music and won multiple awards, including the Pau Casals prize. His notable works include symphonies and choral pieces. Costa returned to Girona in 1972 and produced about 30 sardanas alongside various symphonic compositions.
