He studied at the University of Baroda and later obtained his master's and Ph.D. from the University of Manchester. Hingorani contributed significantly to the flexible alternating current transmission system (FACTS) and custom power concepts. He held prominent positions at various organizations and received numerous accolades, including IEEE fellowships and awards. He is married and has two children.
