Nanduri Prasada Rao (NPR) was a prominent communist leader and a key figure in the communist movement in India. He served as a member of the Rajya Sabha and the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, actively participating in the Indian freedom struggle. Inspired by Puchalapalli Sundarayya, he joined the Communist Party in 1934 and was one of its founding members. He organized peasant movements and participated in the Telangana Rebellion. He lived an ascetic life despite his family's upward mobility. Prasada Rao passed away on November 29, 2001, in Hyderabad.
