Namaa Alward, born on November 11, 1953, is an Iraqi writer and political activist. She was forced to flee her homeland in the 1980s, seeking refuge in Norway with her two children. Alward was active in the resistance movement against Saddam Hussein during the 1970s and 1980s. When asked about U.S. policies during the Iraq invasion, she responded by advocating for the end of sanctions, stopping the 'mad war', and allowing Iraqis to solve their own problems.
