N. V. Ramana, born on August 27, 1957, is an Indian judge and the 48th Chief Justice of India. He was appointed as Chief Justice following the retirement of Sharad Arvind Bobde. Prior to this role, he served as a judge in the Supreme Court of India, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, and Acting Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court. Additionally, Ramana was the President of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy. He retired from his position on August 26, 2022, and was succeeded by Uday Umesh Lalit.
