Myra Paperny (née Green) is a Canadian author and former academic born on September 19, 1932. She began her career in journalism with the Vancouver Province and Vancouver News Herald in the early 1950s. Paperny then taught creative writing at Mount Royal College and the University of Calgary from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s. After leaving academics, she authored multiple books from the 1970s to the 2000s, with her notable works including 'The Wooden People', which won several awards for children's literature.
