Mykola Semenovych Bieliaiev was a Soviet and Ukrainian educator and local historian, born on May 14, 1925, and passed away on August 30, 2004. He was recognized as an Honored Teacher of the Ukrainian SSR in 1989 and was a member of the All-Ukrainian Union of Local Historians. Bieliaiev was honored as an honorary citizen of Bohodukhiv in 1996 and posthumously in 2013 for his contributions to education and local history.
