Mukai Elebayev was a Kyrgyz poet and author from Chong Tash village, born on January 15, 1906. Orphaned at nine, he fled to China during the Urkun in 1916, returning a year later. His notable work, 'The Long Road', published in 1936, is regarded as the first novel in the Kyrgyz language, chronicling his life experiences. Elebayev served in the Soviet army and was killed in action in Russia in 1944 during World War II.
