Muhammad Yusuf Kandhalawi was an Indian Muslim scholar and the second amir of Tablighi Jamaat. Born into a scholarly family in 1917, he memorized the Quran by age ten and pursued studies in Hadith and Islamic disciplines. Apart from writing, he dedicated considerable time to Tablighi activities. He authored notable works including Hayat as-Sahaba and the four-volume Ma'ani al-Ahbar Fi Sharh, and is also known for compiling the Selected Hadith. He passed away in Lahore in 1965 at the age of 48.
