Mrigendranath Dutta (October 27, 1915 - September 2, 1933) was a prominent figure in the Indian subcontinent's anti-British independence movement. He was a member of the secret Bengal Volunteers group. Following the deaths of Peddie and Douglas, an English magistrate named Burge took charge in Medinipur. On September 2, 1933, Mrigendranath and his comrade Anathbandhu killed Magistrate Burge. However, Anathbandhu was shot by police at the scene and died the next day in the hospital.
