Born in Rafah camp, Gaza, he pursued higher education in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering. Active in Islamic work since 1968, he was a founding member of Hamas and has notably held various leadership roles, including head of international relations for Hamas. His political journey includes periods of detention by US authorities and exile from Jordan, while actively contributing to the Palestinian cause and Islamic movements.
