Mouloud Feraoun (1913 - 1962) was an Algerian writer and novelist renowned for his works written in French. He was assassinated by the Secret Army Organization in Ben Aknoun, Algiers on March 15, 1962, just four days before the ceasefire marking the beginning of Algeria's end to the revolution and the country's independence. His most famous works include 'Le Fils de l’ouvrier' (1950), 'La Terre et le Sang' (1953), and 'Les Chemins escarpés' (1957).
