Motoi Hayashi (March 15, 1914 – November 18, 2010) was a Japanese historian and professor emeritus at Senshu University. He was well-known for his specialization in early modern Japanese history, particularly his research on peasant uprisings. In addition to his historical studies, he translated numerous historical texts from Western and Eastern European countries.
