Morris Pejoe was an American blues guitarist and bandleader, born on April 11, 1924, in Palmetto, Louisiana, and died on July 27, 1982, in Westland, Michigan. Originally starting on the violin, he switched to guitar after moving to Texas in the late 1940s. As a mentor to prominent blues pianists like Henry Gray and Otis Spann, Pejoe recorded his first tracks in 1952. His notable song 'Let's Get High' gained popularity. Throughout the 1960s, he often performed with his wife, blues singer Mary Lane.
